dr-maxim-bainiWalking in a street in Europe or America you can somehow spot a Lebanese. How they carry themselves, what they wear, the total look, the detail - perfect tailoring perfect teeth, oozes chic and savoir faire. Whatever is the latest fashion in Faubourg Saint-Honoré, beauty treatment in Beverly Hills, or medical breakthrough in Harley Street, next day it's in Beirut. The same is with dentistry, whether it's having a Hollywood Smile, or correction of dental and facial irregularities, Lebanon is now considered par excellance with America.

We are pleased to say that when it comes to dentistry you do not need to go to Beirut as we have a local born dentist who has chosen to remain in Zgharta offering world class treatment. He is Dr. Maxim Baini who has set up his own dental practice in Zgharta.

Dr Maxim Baini was born in Zgharta, 1976. He was first educated at the Collèges des Frères, Kferyachit, Zgharta, then going to Saint Joseph University in 1994 to study dentistry and to become a doctor. In 1999 he graduated with an Diploma in Dentistry; in 2004 he received a Diploma in Temporomandibular Disorders (problems with the jaw, jaw joint, and surrounding facial muscles that control chewing and moving the jaw). He then undertook a one year course in general medical science at the University as a precursor to taking in the future a Master's Degree. In 2009 he received a Superior Studies Certificate in Dental Implants and in Oral Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Periodontology). He tells zgharta.com that he will continue his studies to be able to offer his patients the latest developments in dentistry.

He is a member of the the Lebanese Dental Association of Tripoli and the American Academy of Periodontology being the sole member from North Lebanon of the Academy. His formal qualifications are DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery); DUO (Diplome Universitaire en Occlusodontie); CESP (Certificat d' Etudes Supérieures en Parodontologie).

Both his parents and grandparents will be known to many of our readers. His father, Justin, now retired, taught for 44 years at the Collèges des Frères, first in Tripoli and then when the college moved to, Kferyachit, Zgharta. His mother, Maria Yammine, is the daughter of the famous painter Boulos Yammine, who painted the world renowned painting of Saydet Zgharta, with his son Boutros. The family is known as "Al Fannane," and many know her by that name. She has for many years her own dental laboratory.

Dr Maxim is married to Jihane Dahdah, who is the owner and director of the well known Zgharta nursery, "Jenny et ses amis, Garderie." They have one daughter, Jennifer, with another child is on its way in a few months time.

The clinic is located at the Fadi Moawad Center, Main Road, Akbeh Zgharta, and has the latest technology and a highly qualified team of specialists. Photographs of the clinic and details of the services that it offers can be seen from its website.
