
Michael Khoury was born in 1950,Kfarshakhna and emigrated to Canada in 1959.
In 1975 he graduated from the University of New Brunswick, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. From an early age he was interested in painting and drawing and in the 1980’s he developed his interest in paintings and photography. He studied photography with Freeman Patterson, Canada’s leading photographer between 1985 and 1988. He was subsequently introduced to Molly Lamb Bobak, Canada’s foremost female artist and he studied painting with her from 1995 to 1998. In taking photographs he concentrates mainly on the natural aspects of Lebanon. He has high standards in visual artistic expression and he says that he is always concerned that his photographic images fit the classic 'criteria' of photography as art.
